Camp Bluebonnet seeks to motivate and challenge the participants to be young women with ideals of solidarity, leadership, and service. Inspired by the Christian understanding of the dignity of each person, the camp teaches the virtues needed to become a positive influence on family, friends, and society.

The sports program encourages the qualities of generosity, perseverance, and sportsmanship. The activities include: swimming, canoes, soccer, volleyball, basketball, archery, gaga ball, ropes, games, and more.

The fine arts program is designed to develop talents, foster creativity, and increase self-confidence, industriousness, patience, and attention to detail. Theater, Dance, and Visual Arts are offered.

Each day counselors give a brief talk on some practical ways the girls can become more effective leaders. Topics include personal responsibility, loyalty, fortitude, friendship, and respect for self and others. Camp Bluebonnet entrusts the doctrinal and spiritual aspects of its activities to Opus Dei, a personal Prelature of the Catholic Church. Opus Dei encourages people to practice Christian virtues in everything they do, especially in their families, their work, and their friendships. Click here for more information about Opus Dei.
